A wonderful brunch spot in STL serving up creative takes on the classics. I came a couple of times and everything I've had was absolutely delicious. One day I went for the chicken and waffles which were very solid, and another the meat focused hash. Portion sizes are fantastic, everything is cooked perfectly, and there's a good number of options to choose from. The staff is super friendly, quick to offer suggestions and get anything you need. The place is mildly chess themed to fit in well into this historic chess focused part of town. Nothing too intense on the theming, but it's there, and make sure you stop by the museum next door. There's plenty of seating inside and out, and while the place gets busy, it doesn't feel crowded. Highly recommend checking out this wonderful place for a great plate of breakfast!

Found this quaint little diner Kingside Diner while visiting St Louis. Lucky for me I beat the Sunday morning rush. I really went here to try the Kingside Slinger since it is a dish specific to Stl but was told it was huge. I went with the 'Meet Me In St Louie' skillet ~ bacon, sausage, ham, green peppers, red peppers, onion, cheddar cheese served over hash browns and two eggs your way....very good and filling. They offer a variety of specialty lattes; I tried the Caramel Pecan Roll ~ cinnamon, butter pecan, caramel, double espresso, steamed half and half ...loved it! Customer service was very good from the host, my waitress and the gentleman who brought my latte over.

Came here at 9am on the Saturday of a long weekend. Got seated right away outside. Atmosphere was nice, the waiter was fantastic, and food was amazing. I had the avocado toast, it was fantastic. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food, and the menu was extensive, even included a good kids section. Would definitely come here again. Later in the morning the line was really long, so arrive early or prepare for a wait.

On a pristine morning in the Central West End, before confining myself to the office, I was swept off for a delightful breakfast at Kingside. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between modern and cozy. As we were seated by the welcoming hostess at an ideal window spot, passersby's glanced over, perhaps pondering the whispers that brought a blush to my cheek, was it the charming words from the handsome gentleman by my side or the delectable Queen's Delight Latte that did the trick? The latte was a perfect complement to our vibrant chat. He opted for a classic waffle while I ventured into new culinary territory with the avocado toast, which was, quite frankly, the best I've ever savored. Was there a sprinkle of magic in it? It surely tasted so! Thank you, Kingside, for crafting another romantic chapter in St. Louis for this elated Queen and her King. Here's to many more! Until next time, Sierra

Tried a new brunch spot this past week and was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Kingside Diner. It's chess-themed because of its location -- it's next to the Guinness world record giant chess piece! The inside is a bit retro. They had the Olympics playing during breakfast. I came in around 8 am and was promptly seated. They have fancy, gourmet flavored lattes and my server recommended the Snickers latte. It tasted like a regular caramel latte, nothing special, but a bit expensive. I wanted something light so I ordered their bagel and lox -- capers, smoked salmon, tomatoes, cream cheese, and red onions came on the side. You can't really mess up a bagel and lox IMO! It was delightful and I felt pleasantly full after my meal. Overall: I probably would come back again with a group if they wanted to go, but I wouldn't go on my own again. The prices are bit high for what you get.

Great food, great ambiance, great service. My Avocado Toast was made extra special by the addition of balsamic vinegar- yum! Apparently this part of town has been developed by a billionaire who loves chess, so there is a chess school nearby as well as a sculpture of the world's largest chess piece. This diner has posters of legendary chess matches up on the walls- very different and fun!

DAMN DELICIOUS, and Damn good service, and Damn good vibes! I'm not from St Louis, so Kingside seems to be a staple of sorts. I saw the menu offerings and had to try. One item caught my eye, the damn delicious offering! The damn delicious is a croissant, filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, and smothered with white gravy & sausage, with a side of hash browns! I'm telling you this is DAMN GOOD! And filling! Just as important, the service was attentive and happy! Claire was amazing! The music provided a vibe, and the window view allowed me to soak in the hustle of the day. There is a patio for those who like the sweltering humidity and heat of St. Louis in June! lol I would have to go back more often to give five stars, but it was a damn good start!!

I LOVE KINGSIDE! Such a great breakfast experience with friends. Our waitress was so kind and full of life! They were able to seat us within a half hour which was lovely. The cheddar biscuit is soooooo good! I absolutely loved it and am such a sucker for a cheddar biscuit. I also loved my omelet. Everyone enjoyed their food and the place was clean! Can't wait to go back!
